NA, Christian Boltanski : Oude Kerk, Amsterdam

NA

Christian Boltanski creates a new composition for the Oude Kerk in Amsterdam. He uses the entire church to deploy several monumental installations on the theme of the After, and what happens once our life is over. On the gravestones forming the ground, the artist draws a labyrinth of tombs suspended above the stones, creating a new perspective and an architectural layer highlighting our ancestors.

Anime. Di luogo in luogo, Christian Boltanski : Musée d’Art Moderne de Bologne

ANIME. DI LUOGO IN LUOGO

Christian Boltanski’s exhibition at MAMbo focuses on memory and time as an inevitable passage between life and death. These concepts are evoked by the very title of the project that intersects time, space, philosophy and religion. This exhibition is the largest ever organized in Italy with more than 20 installations. It recalls the role of the museum which is not only to preserve an inheritance but which is also a place of research and production of a contemporary culture.

Porticus, Artur Lescher : Palais d’Iéna, FIAC

PORTICUS

As part of FIAC 2017, the Palais d’Iéna is hosting an exhibition by Brazilian artist Artur Lescher.
Presented for the first time in France, the artworks come from Brazilian collections or are made in-situ for the event. They propose an unprecedented dialogue with the modern classicism of the monumental spaces designed by the architect Auguste Perret. Theses volumes are revealed, according to the aesthetic experience of the works of Artur Lescher, as places intrinsically open, articulated and dynamic. Renewing this way with the initial model of the ancient portico and with its democratic dimension, the artist opens the place, symbolically, outwardly but also on a more intimate register, towards the perceptual mechanics of the viewer.
