Felice Varini, Solo show

Museo d’Arte Mendrisio,Switzerland

Exhibition: 10 May to 11 October 2026

The Museo d’Arte Mendrisio is dedicating its first major solo exhibition to Felice Varini in Switzerland and the Italian-speaking cultural sphere. Spanning the entire museum, from the historic cloister to the exhibition galleries, this immersive presentation traces over fifty years of creative output through the artist’s historic works, reactivated for the occasion, and several new installations designed specifically for the building’s architecture.

A leading figure on the international art scene, Felice Varini has, since the 1980s, developed a body of work based on the perception of space. His monumental geometric forms and anamorphosis, painted directly onto the architecture, reveal themselves from a specific vantage point before fragmenting as the visitor moves. Through this dialogue between painting, movement and architecture, his work permanently transforms our experience of the space.

For many years, Eva Albarran & Co has been supporting Felice Varini in the production of his site-specific projects in France and internationally. This long-standing collaboration, based on a relationship of trust and an in-depth understanding of his creative process, enables the agency to coordinate and execute often complex interventions on the scale of buildings, heritage sites or public spaces. For the exhibition in Mendrisio, the agency supported the artist in the preparation and realization of the works presented within the museum.
